Kids

I miss my Rose.

She was the first to fly from the nest. And although we Skype all the time, it's not the same as seeing her drive in or passing her in the kitchen. I miss hearing that daily "Hi Mama."

She is one of the brightest jewels in my life. I am so proud of her. People love her everywhere she goes. She's kind, generous, sweet, smart, and gorgeous. I look at those eyes and that smile when we talk on Skype, and I just can't get over the fact that this incredible young woman is my daughter.

This morning, I read this from Mark 1:

9-11At this time, Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. The moment he came out of the water, he saw the sky split open and God's Spirit, looking like a dove, come down on him. Along with the Spirit, a voice: "You are my Son, chosen and marked by my love, pride of my life."

I think I know how God felt just then.

  1. Oh Jen. You are after my heart with this one. I am missing my college kids so much. My post tomorrow is about them again.

  2. This got me choked up. Mine are little but I daydream about this all the time. I know I will be proud to see them as young men and women one day. What a privilege it is to raise our kids!
